Ryan Clark Russell Wilson:

Although quarterback Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks wasn’t the most talked-about player coming out of college before the 2012 NFL draught, he has swiftly amassed a large fan base. Include Washington’s Ryan Clark, a safety, in that group.

On Monday Night Football, Wilson led Seattle to a 27-17 victory over the Washington Redskins by passing for 201 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 122 yards and a score.

Clark praised Wilson after the game, as reported by Mike Jones of The Washington Post: “We lost to a stronger squad. This past weekend, we lost against the best player in the NFL, in my opinion. The difference between their victory and ours was that Russell Wilson made every play his team needed to make.”

Those are very flattering words from a veteran player.

According to Clark’s statements, Wilson was the greatest player in Week 5. The quarterback for Seattle is performing so well that it’s hardly a leap to declare him the best in the league right now.

Wilson hasn’t slowed down a bit since winning the Super Bowl in February, and he shouldn’t have to. Taking Clark’s words into account, it would appear that the rest of the league has a great deal of regard for the Seahawks’ quarterback.
